Tel aviv: About 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel from morning until the afternoon on Friday, injuring four people, according to Israeli media reports.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Haaretz newspaper reported that Hezbollah launched rockets at multiple areas in northern Israel, with four individuals wounded in one of the barrages. The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper detailed fires at a site in the Metula settlement, damage to a building in Misgav Am, and further fire and structural damage in Nahariya as a result of the attacks.

Statements issued by Hezbollah from early Friday until 1315GMT claimed responsibility for 47 attacks targeting Israeli settlements, forces, vehicles, and military sites. The group justified the attacks as a defense of Lebanon and its people in response to Israeli ceasefire violations, stating that the assaults would persist until what they described as ‘the Israeli-American aggression against our country and people stops.’

Air raid sirens were triggered at least 29 times across 39 areas in Israel, including major cities like Tel Aviv and Ashdod, according to an Anadolu tally based on Israeli media reports, including Yedioth Ahronoth and Channel 12.

The Israeli army has continued its broader assault on Lebanon since Wednesday, which has resulted in at least 303 fatalities and 1,150 injuries, as confirmed by the Lebanese Civil Defense.

A US State Department official informed Anadolu on Thursday that the US plans to host direct talks between Israel and Lebanon next week, as part of ongoing ceasefire negotiations. This development follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Tuesday of a two-week ceasefire with Iran after Tehran presented a 10-point proposal deemed ‘workable’ for negotiations.
