Gaza city: The Hind Rajab Foundation on Wednesday expressed 'no confidence' in the Israeli army's reported decision to initiate a criminal investigation into the 2024 killing of Hind Rajab and six of her relatives. The foundation criticized the move as a strategy to avoid accountability and maintain its impunity.

According to Anadolu Agency, the tragic incident occurred in Gaza City when five-year-old Hind Rajab was trapped in her family's car, which came under Israeli fire. Her death was confirmed after nearly two weeks of uncertainty. The incident also resulted in the deaths of two Palestinian medics who attempted to rescue her.

Since the onset of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, over 73,000 Palestinians, including many children, have lost their lives in the conflict, highlighting the severe humanitarian impact on the region.
