Istanbul: Hong Kong public hospitals are planning to harness artificial intelligence to proactively identify and manage high-risk patients at an earlier stage, as reported by local media. Dr. Cheung Ngai-tseung, the Hong Kong Hospital Authority's head of information technology and health informatics, outlined the initiative to integrate AI into the clinical management system. This integration aims to tailor individual treatments using automated tools, benefiting over 10 million patients. According to Anadolu Agency, Dr. Cheung explained that the general capabilities envisioned include increased use of AI, personalization, and enhanced communication techniques. These capabilities will support specific targeted interventions that may be disease-specific or tailored to existing hospital workflows. Presently, the Hospital Authority offers an app for accessing patient records and receiving information updates. The proposed AI integration could enhance this by providing reminders for prescriptions and laboratory r esults, depicted as a blue elf on the screen.
