Hot weather persists across Cyprus on Saturday with temperatures expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius over inland areas.

In a yellow warning for extremely high temperature valid between 11:00 and 18:00 local time, the Meteorological Department said that "maximum temperature are expected around 40 degrees Celsius over inland areas and around 33 degrees Celsius over the higher mountainous areas."
