Sanaa: The Houthi group confirmed Thursday that its chief of staff had been killed in US-Israeli airstrikes on Yemen.

According to Anadolu Agency, the group announced that Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim al-Ghamari was killed, along with his 13-year-old son and several colleagues. However, the Houthis did not specify the exact date of Ghamari's death.

The group further stated that it had conducted 758 attacks against Israel since November 2023, amidst Tel Aviv's military actions in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army corroborated the death of Ghamari, revealing he was killed on August 28 in an airstrike on the capital, Sanaa, which also claimed the lives of Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser Al-Rahawi and several other ministers.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, emphasized that Israel would continue to respond to any perceived threats in the future, as reported by The Times of Israel news website. The ongoing conflict between the Houthis and Israel has been marked by exchanges of attacks over recent months, against the backdrop of escalating tensions surrounding Israel's prolonged war in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in nearly 68,000 casualties since October 2023. A ceasefire agreement was recently implemented in Gaza on Friday.
