Riyadh:Yemen's Houthi group announced that it carried out three military operations targeting key sites in Saudi Arabia, including two airports, an oil facility, and military locations.
According to Anadolu Agency, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree detailed the operations on the social media platform X, stating they involved a significant deployment of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.
The first operation reportedly targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with Saree claiming it hit its target and disrupted air traffic. The second operation was directed at a refinery of state oil company Aramco in Rabigh, Mecca region, allegedly causing a fire at the facility. The third operation focused on Abha Airport, the Khamis Mushait base, and Akfa camp in the southern Asir region, along with other 'sensitive sites' in Najran and Jazan.
Saree stated these actions were in retaliation for 60 Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks over the previous day on locations including Sanaa and the Yemeni provinces of Al-Jawf, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, and Marib. He reported a total of 1,576 airstrikes and missile attacks since the start of the escalation.
Additionally, Saree cautioned international airlines about using Saudi airspace, warning that it is now within the operational area of the group, except for the airspace over Mecca and Medina.
There has been no immediate response from Saudi authorities regarding these claims by the Houthis.
