Sanaa: The Yemeni Houthi group reported that the United States executed 69 airstrikes on Friday across Yemen, marking the highest number in a single day since Washington began its offensive on Houthi-controlled territories in mid-March.

According to Anadolu Agency, Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV announced that by the afternoon, warplanes had conducted 26 raids targeting the capital, Sanaa, as well as the Al-Jawf and Saada provinces. The attacks in Saada province reportedly resulted in one civilian death and left three others injured.

Earlier reports from the broadcaster indicated a total of 43 airstrikes across various Yemeni provinces. This included 19 strikes in Amran, eight in Sanaa, seven in Saada, four in Marib, three in Al-Hudaydah, and two in Al-Jawf. The Houthi-run Health Ministry confirmed that seven civilians were injured in airstrikes on the Al-Tahreer District in central Sanaa, and the group claimed that civilian properties suffered damage during the attacks.

US President Donald Trump had announced on March 15 that he ordered a 'major offensive' against the Houthis, further threatening to 'whip them out completely.' The escalation comes amid ongoing regional tensions, as the Houthi group has been targeting Israeli-linked vessels traversing the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden. These attacks, involving missiles and drones, are said to be a demonstration of solidarity with the Gaza Strip.

Although the Houthi group halted its attacks following a ceasefire declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, it threatened to resume hostilities when Israel blocked humanitarian aid into Gaza on March 2.
