Yemen: Yemen's National Resistance Forces, aligned with the internationally recognized government, reported on Tuesday that the Houthis launched 10 missiles and four drones targeting sites along Yemen's western coast since Tuesday morning.

According to Anadolu Agency, the group's statement, as reported by the 2 December news agency, indicated that air defense forces responded to the attacks, successfully intercepting and shooting down an explosive-laden drone. The statement noted that the Houthi attacks did not achieve their intended military objectives. Authorities are currently evaluating the impact and damage caused by these strikes, with no additional details provided at this time.

Yemen has experienced a reduction in hostilities since April 2022 after nearly 12 years of conflict between government forces, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, and the Iran-backed Houthi group, which took control of the capital, Sanaa, and significant parts of the country in 2014.

Since late 2023, with the onset of Israel's war on Gaza, the Houthis have increasingly engaged in regional hostilities, carrying out attacks on Israel and commercial shipping in the Red Sea. The resurgence of conflict has sparked concerns over the possibility of a return to widespread warfare in Yemen.
