How Ukraine War Ends Will Be Decisive for Security in Region: Swedish Premier

Stockholm: Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasized the critical impact of the outcome of the Ukraine war on regional security, as anticipation builds for the Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kristersson, addressing Radio Sweden following his participation in a virtual Coalition of the Willing meeting, underscored the long-term implications of the conflict's resolution.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kristersson highlighted that a favorable outcome of the upcoming Alaska meeting would involve Russia recognizing the steadfast support of the Western world for Ukraine and acknowledging that a military victory is unattainable. He stressed that the united stance of Western nations would persist, reinforcing their commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and stability.

Kristersson further stated that should the conflict continue, Sweden and its allies would maintain their support for Ukraine while intensifying sanctions against Russia. The Swedish premier's remarks come at a pivotal moment as world leaders prepare to discuss strategic geopolitical issues at the Alaska summit.
