Rawalpindi: At least eight people have been killed and 35 injured while two are missing after India launched missile attacks inside Pakistan, a spokesperson for the Pakistani Army announced on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Indian army, 'using different weapons, targeted six places, which left 24 impacts,' Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated during a pre-dawn news conference in Rawalpindi. The targeted locations, including a mosque, were situated inside Pakistan as well as in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, he explained.

Earlier, India had reported launching missile attacks targeting nine sites of "terrorist infrastructure" in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The recent escalation between the nuclear-armed neighbors follows an April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, which resulted in 26 deaths. India attributed the attack to Pakistan, alleging cross-border connections, a claim that Pakistan has denied.
