Troyes: French prosecutors have initiated an investigation into a party held in the northeastern Aube department where attendees dressed as members of the Ku Klux Klan, a group known for its white supremacist ideology in the United States. The investigation was prompted by the nature of the event, which took place within the local club of the French Parachuting Federation (FFP). According to Anadolu Agency, the Troyes prosecutor's office is pursuing the case on the basis of "public provocation to hatred or violence on the grounds of origin, ethnicity, nation, race, or religion." The investigation has already seen witnesses questioned and technical inquiries conducted. The prosecutor's office has indicated that the individuals involved, only two of whom are residents of Aube, will be interrogated in the near future. A video circulated on social media depicted five individuals dressed as members of the KKK, engaging in activities such as burning pallets and simulating the strangulation of three others in blac kface. This event, organized on October 18, has sparked significant controversy and condemnation. Yves-Marie Guillaud, president of the FFP, voiced his outrage, describing the incident as a "despicable and ignoble moral offense." The involvement of three individuals in blackface, who are reportedly members of the Paris Fire Brigade, has led the brigade to launch an internal investigation to address the matter.
