Geneva: The second round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States in Geneva has concluded, Iranian state television reported on Tuesday. Both delegations exited the negotiation venue, the Omani Embassy in Geneva, after engaging in indirect discussions that spanned approximately four hours.

According to Anadolu Agency, the two parties exchanged notes on nuclear issues through Omani mediators, involving experts from nuclear, legal, and economic fields. This session, commencing at 10 am Geneva time on Tuesday, concentrated largely on the technical facets of the negotiations.

The Iranian delegation was spearheaded by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's adviser Jared Kushner led the American side. Prior to exchanging notes through mediators, both delegations conducted separate meetings with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi at the Omani Embassy.

The initial round of discussions occurred in Muscat earlier this month, over eight months after diplomatic efforts were put on hold following the Iran-Israel conflict last June. Sources indicated that in this round, both parties submitted practical proposals addressing technical matters related to Iran's nuclear program, with Tehran emphasizing the need for sanction removal.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei also affirmed that the relief of sanctions was a topic of discussion during Tuesday's negotiations. However, some reports hint that the proposals put forth by Iran may not align with the expectations of the American side. Both delegations plan to return to their respective capitals and are expected to reconvene at a future date.
