Iran: Iran's Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that a crucial meeting involving Iran, Iraq, and Gulf states will convene in Oman on Monday to address commercial shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting aims to evaluate the results of negotiations between Tehran and Muscat concerning the establishment of secure commercial shipping routes through the strait. The ministry's spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, stated through a release by the state-run broadcaster IRIB that Iran and Oman have reached an understanding on temporary shipping lanes within the waterway. Baqaei emphasized Iran's commitment to ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

This announcement comes amidst escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington over the strategic waterway, despite a memorandum signed in June that proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz as part of a broader peace agreement.
