Iran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Monday that it successfully shot down an MQ-9 drone east of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Anadolu Agency, the IRGC reported that the drone was detected and destroyed using a new advanced air defense system developed by the IRGC Aerospace Force. The statement emphasized that the operation was executed under the control of Iran's integrated air defense network.

Earlier on the same day, the IRGC claimed responsibility for downing a US drone over the Strait of Hormuz, which subsequently crashed into the Gulf waters. The IRGC further disclosed that they had launched ballistic missile attacks on the King Hussein and Azraq airbases in Jordan. Additionally, they targeted Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE using explosive drones.

The IRGC stated that these operations were in retaliation for a US strike on Larak Island on Sunday. The US operation was reportedly aimed at preventing the placement of sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a significant route for oil transit.
