Tehran: Iran has closed its airspace "until further notice" as Israeli attacks persist, the country's state-run media reported. The closure aims to ensure passenger safety amidst the ongoing conflict.

According to Anadolu Agency, the decision was announced by the official Iranian news agency IRNA, citing a directive from the Civil Aviation Authority. This directive halts all flights at airports across Iran, emphasizing the priority of passenger safety.

The development follows Israel's declaration of its intent to target sites in Tehran, prompting Iran's vow of retaliation. Early Friday, Israeli forces launched attacks on Iran, targeting nuclear and missile facilities. These strikes resulted in over 104 fatalities, including senior military figures and scientists, and injured nearly 380 individuals.

In retaliation, Iran deployed ballistic missiles aimed at various locations in Israel, leading to three deaths and over 170 injuries.
