Iran Condemns US Strikes as ‘Aggression,’ Vows Retaliation

Sanaa: Iran condemned on Wednesday the latest wave of US strikes on the country's south as an act of 'aggression,' vowing retaliation for any attack on its territory.

According to Anadolu Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated that the US attacks on southern Iran were illegal and have already prompted a response from Iran's armed forces. Baqaei emphasized that Iran's forces are committed to defending the entire nation and will respond reciprocally to any enemy strikes on Iranian territory.

He further declared that every part of Iran is considered integral to the country and its people, and any offensive action would be met with a decisive response from the Islamic Republic's military forces.

Additionally, Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani reported that over 30 civilians have lost their lives in the recent US attacks on the southern region of Iran.

Tensions between the US and Iran have been rising, particularly over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Despite a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding aimed at resolving the conflict and establishing a peace agreement, both nations have continued to exchange attacks.
