Ankara: Iranian security forces arrested the head of the Reform Front coalition and two other reformist politicians on Sunday, local media reported. The individuals were detained on allegations of acting against the constitution. According to Anadolu Agency, Azar Mansouri, the head of the Reform Front coalition, was taken into custody alongside Ebrahim Asgharzadeh, the head of the coalition's political committee, and Mohsen Aminzadeh, a former deputy foreign minister. The trio faces accusations of "taking positions against the constitution" and "coordinating with enemy propaganda." The Reform Front confirmed the arrests through a statement released on the US social media platform X. Mansouri's leadership role in the Reform Front began in 2023 after the resignation of Behzad Nabavi, who stepped down due to the completion of his two-year term and advancing age.
