Iran: Iran's Foreign Ministry announced that discussions held in Switzerland are concentrating on the execution of critical aspects of the June 18 memorandum of understanding with the United States. These discussions aim to end the ongoing war, ease sanctions, and facilitate the release of frozen Iranian assets.

According to Anadolu Agency, ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized Iran's commitment to ensuring the other party adheres to the agreement's terms with precision and seriousness, as reported by state broadcaster IRIB. The Switzerland meeting was specifically convened to ensure the memorandum's provisions, which include ending the war, are followed through. Baqaei highlighted that Article 13 of the memorandum stipulates that negotiations for a final agreement can only commence once Articles 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 have been implemented.

Baqaei underscored the importance of Article 1, which pertains to ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon. He stated that without the execution of these provisions, particularly Article 1, it is impossible to progress to negotiations for a final agreement. The situation in Lebanon remains dire, with Israeli attacks since March 2 resulting in the deaths of 4,106 individuals, injuries to 12,531 others, and the displacement of over one million people, as per figures from the Lebanese Health Ministry.

On Sunday, discussions centered on the implementation of these provisions, with a particular focus on Article 1. Additionally, the talks reviewed steps related to Article 10, which involves US waivers to aid Iranian oil exports, and Article 11, which pertains to the release of Iran's frozen assets. The initial round of four-party talks, involving Iran and the US and mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, concluded in Switzerland, as reported by Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, citing a source close to the Iranian negotiating team.
