Tehran:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that Tehran is engaged in intensive diplomatic contacts through Qatari and Pakistani mediators, involving dozens of telephone calls and 'intensive shuttle diplomacy.' This statement was made following Araghchi's visit to Turkmenistan.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, Araghchi stated that Tehran has presented a clear plan and conditions for a diplomatic resolution, with the next steps dependent on the United States. He emphasized that the situation now hinges on the political rationality of the American side and their willingness to pursue diplomacy over military action.
Araghchi warned that Iran is prepared for both diplomatic and military scenarios, stating that any renewed military action or deception would prompt a response "far harsher and more regretful than before." He also made it clear that Tehran would not submit to coercion.
The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the full resumption of negotiations are contingent on the unconditional acceptance of Iran's 'rightful conditions,' according to Araghchi. He further described enhancing relations with neighboring countries as an 'unchanging priority' of Iranian foreign policy, with his visit to Turkmenistan focusing on major bilateral projects in energy, transit, and economic cooperation.
Araghchi also mentioned the strategic and security consultations in Beijing by Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, as part of Iran's engagement with key partners on regional peace and stability. The diplomatic efforts come amid ongoing tensions with Washington over the US naval blockade and security in the Strait of Hormuz.
