Iran Officials Claim Momentum Against US, Israel as Tensions Escalate

Tehran: The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said a 'historic victory' by the Iranian people over what he called 'the remnants of Epstein Island' is near, Tasnim News Agency reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ali Larijani referenced the Iranian Revolution, recalling the former Pahlavi regime's dismissal of public demonstrations. Larijani compared this to recent statements by former US President Donald Trump, who alleged that images of large anti-American and anti-Israeli gatherings in Iran were generated by artificial intelligence.

Adding to the narrative, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf highlighted Iran's strategic advancements. As reported by ISNA, Qalibaf emphasized that Iran successfully thwarted adversarial plans, asserting that Iran's own strategies were implemented effectively. He noted technological advancements in Iran's defense systems, particularly in drone interception and launcher redesigns, which he claims have rendered them untargetable by enemies.

Qalibaf stressed the importance of removing threats from the region, stating that advanced enemy drones are now tracked and destroyed using domestic technology. This statement comes amid escalating hostilities following joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, resulting in significant casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran's retaliatory actions included drone and missile strikes on Israel and countries hosting US military assets, causing further casualties and infrastructure damage, and impacting global markets and aviation.
