Iran Reports Civilian Casualties in US-Israeli Conflict

Tehran: Iran announced on Tuesday that at least 249 women and 216 children have been killed in US-Israeli attacks since the conflict began last month. All casualties were civilians, including 17 children under the age of five, as stated by government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, according to the state news agency IRNA.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mohajerani further detailed that attacks on civilian infrastructure resulted in additional fatalities, including incidents at a natural resources facility and a charity center in the city of Fardis, where two people lost their lives and five others were injured. The US-Israeli military operations have reportedly targeted 105,325 civilian sites throughout Iran, including 83,351 residential units and 21,959 commercial properties, with significant damage recorded in Tehran.

The ongoing air offensive by the US and Israel, which began on February 28, has resulted in over 1,340 deaths, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes against Israel and other countries in the region hosting US military assets, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations. These retaliatory actions have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
