Iran: Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs announced on Wednesday that close to 3,500 individuals have lost their lives due to the ongoing hostilities initiated by the US and Israel since February 28.

According to Anadolu Agency, the foundation released statistics indicating that 3,499 casualties have resulted from the conflict spearheaded by Washington and Tel Aviv. The deceased comprise 2,988 men and 511 women, with 1,609 of the victims reported to be unmarried.

The tension in the region has escalated since the US and Israel commenced airstrikes on Iranian targets, prompting retaliatory actions by Iran against Israel and other neighboring nations housing US military assets. Although a temporary ceasefire was achieved on April 8, a lasting resolution to the conflict has yet to be finalized.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards reported on Wednesday that they executed strikes on US assets located in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, following American air raids on southern Iran. These drone and missile assaults occurred after US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran had shot down a US Apache helicopter the previous day.

In a subsequent social media statement, Trump remarked that Iran took 'too long' to engage in negotiations, suggesting that they 'will now have to pay the price,' though he did not provide further details on the ceasefire status.
