Iran Says Its Air Defenses Shot Down ‘Enemy Drone’

Tehran: The Iranian army announced early Monday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed an 'enemy reconnaissance drone' in the southwestern region of the country. The drone was brought down by units under the command of Iran's joint air defense headquarters, as reported by Iran's official IRNA news agency.

According to Anadolu Agency, the army's public relations office confirmed the event, stating that the interception was carried out by the country's integrated air defense network. The incident occurs amidst heightened tensions following US President Donald Trump's recent dismissal of Tehran's response to an American peace plan, labeling it 'totally unacceptable.'
