Iran Sets One-Month Deadline for US to End Naval Blockade and Wars in Iran, Lebanon

Tehran: Iran has set a one-month deadline for negotiations on a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, end a US naval blockade, and permanently end the wars in Iran and Lebanon. According to a report by Axios, Tehran submitted a 14-point revised proposal to Washington on Thursday, outlining a strict timeline to secure a deal that covers maritime access, ends the US naval blockade, and establishes a lasting ceasefire on both fronts.

According to Anadolu Agency, the proposal envisions a second phase only after an initial deal is sealed, which would launch an additional month of negotiations focused on Iran's nuclear program. President Donald Trump, when asked about the potential for new strikes, indicated that there remains a possibility for action if circumstances change, although he did not specify what might constitute a trigger for such actions.

While Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the Iranian proposal on Friday, he stated on Saturday that he would review it during his flight from Palm Beach to Miami. "I'm looking at it. I'll let you know about it later," he remarked, adding that he had been briefed on the concept of the deal and was awaiting the exact wording.

In a subsequent post on Truth Social, Trump expressed skepticism about the proposal's acceptability and criticized Iran for its actions over the past decades. Despite these criticisms, Trump portrayed the naval blockade as a 'very friendly' and uncontested measure, asserting that it aligns with his claim that hostilities have been 'terminated.'
