Iran: Iran's foreign minister stated that ending the Israeli occupation and stopping ongoing attacks are essential to reestablishing peace in Lebanon, amidst continuous assaults by the US and Israel against Tehran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Abbas Araghchi communicated with French foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot on Saturday night, asserting that Israel and the US are the "main cause of insecurity" in the region and the Strait of Hormuz, as reported by the state news agency IRNA.

Araghchi emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, urging all countries to adopt a responsible stance by condemning the "criminal act of the aggressors" attacking Iran and avoiding any actions that could further escalate the conflict.

The Iranian diplomat reiterated the country's commitment to defending its "sovereignty, dignity, territorial integrity, and national security" against the US-Israeli onslaughts. He clarified that Iran's defensive actions are aimed solely at military targets belonging to the aggressors and should not be seen as attacks on other regional nations.

Tensions have intensified since February 28, when joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths, including that of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries with US military presence.

Additionally, Tehran's closing of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil transit route, has led to increased shipping and insurance costs, consequently raising global oil prices. The conflict has also affected Lebanon, where expanded Israeli military actions have resulted in over 800 deaths and more than 2,000 injuries since March 2 amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah.
