Ankara: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday that it launched strikes on US-linked targets in Jordan and Bahrain. The Iranian army also claimed responsibility for separate drone attacks on Bahrain's Sheikh Isa Air Base and Kuwait's Al Zour power station.

According to Anadolu Agency, the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported that the IRGC's Aerospace Force targeted a complex in Jordan's Al-Rukban area, resulting in the deaths of several US soldiers. However, Jordan's official Petra news agency cited a military source stating that the army successfully intercepted five drones and three missiles launched from Iran, with no casualties or material damage reported.

Additionally, the IRGC stated, via the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, that it targeted central data infrastructure belonging to the US company Amazon in Bahrain using cruise missiles. The Iranian army further claimed to have targeted the US-operated Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain with drones, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency. Bahrain's military confirmed that its air defense systems intercepted several Iranian aerial attacks on Tuesday.

In another development, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported that Iranian forces conducted a drone strike on Kuwait's Al Zour power station. There has been no immediate response from Kuwait, the US, or Amazon regarding these claims.

The IRGC has accused the Pentagon of hiding the true extent of US military losses in Jordan. It claims that the number of US troops killed in its attacks surpasses the official figures released by Washington, alleging a cover-up of casualties, especially those from strikes on a US military base in Jordan.

Recently, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that two service members were killed, and a third went missing while responding to Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday. An update on Sunday mentioned that unidentified human remains were recovered from the attack site, with the examination process underway to identify the individual.

This escalation follows a series of retaliatory strikes between the US and Iran, despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June aimed at ending their conflict and reaching a lasting peace agreement.
