Iran Vows to End War Only When US-Israeli Aggression Ceases

Tehran: Iran declared on Tuesday that the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel will conclude only when what it termed as 'aggression' by these nations stops. Addressing the media at a primary school in Tehran that suffered damage from a US-Israeli strike, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized that the war was not instigated by Iran, which had preferred diplomatic solutions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US and Israel initiated a large-scale offensive against Iran on Saturday, resulting in nearly 800 fatalities, including prominent figures such as Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and key military officials, based on Iranian reports. This assault occurred shortly after the US and Iran engaged in a third round of indirect nuclear negotiations, mediated by Oman.

Baghaei highlighted internal opposition within Iran regarding negotiations with the US, citing previous experiences when the US and Israel attacked the country last June. He urged the UN Security Council and the international community to step in 'before the war expands to other places,' and affirmed Iran's commitment to defending itself vigorously.

He also mentioned the presence of 'contradictory and deceptive messages' over the past eighteen months, asserting that the current priority is to focus on homeland defense. Baghaei criticized the international community's 'inaction and indifference' towards legal violations, warning that failure to act could lead to widespread chaos.

Iran has reportedly conducted 15 waves of missile and drone strikes against Israel and US assets in the region, targeting countries including Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. These nations have largely condemned Iran's actions as unjustified.
