Ankara: The Iranian army announced that it launched drone attacks targeting US military facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The strikes reportedly took place early Friday, as Iran continues to engage in a series of confrontational actions in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported that 'Arash' attack drones were used in the operation. These drones were said to have targeted several strategic locations including fuel tanks, large equipment warehouses, hangars, and accommodation facilities used by US forces at Sheikh Isa Air Base.

In addition to the Bahrain attack, Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan was also targeted. The Iranian army stated that aircraft hangars, a maintenance facility, and accommodation facilities housing US personnel were among the sites hit by the drones.

In response to the announcement by Iran, Bahrain's Interior Ministry issued a warning siren, urging citizens to remain calm and seek safety in nearby shelters. The warning was disseminated on X, a US social media platform, advising people to move to the safest available locations.

The Iranian statement included a warning that any action against Iran's legitimate interests would compromise the security and economic interests of other regional countries. This statement underscores the growing regional tensions between the US and Iran, as both nations continue to engage in a series of military exchanges.
