Ankara: Iranian army confirmed on Thursday that it carried out missile and drone strikes on US military bases located in both Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The strikes were part of the 31st phase of Iran's Operation Saeqeh, which aims to retaliate against recent US attacks on Iranian targets. According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian military stated that the attacks took place early Thursday, targeting key infrastructure at Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, including satellite communications systems, equipment warehouses, and fighter jet hangars. The strikes reportedly caused damage to communications systems and hangars at the base. In the United Arab Emirates, the Iranian army claimed its missiles and drones were aimed at US troop positions and radar systems at Al Minhad Air Base. The Iranian military emphasized its commitment to continue such attacks in retaliation for US military operations against Iran. Earlier on Thursday, Kuwait announced that its air defenses were actively responding to the I ranian missile and drone attacks. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry condemned these strikes, labeling them as a 'flagrant violation' of the nation's sovereignty. These latest attacks followed a day after Iran targeted US military facilities in Kuwait. On Wednesday, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) revealed that it had struck the headquarters and accommodation of the US commander at Ali Al Salem Air Base. The ongoing escalation between Iran and the US intensified after a US strike on Iran's Larak Island last Sunday, which ended a month-long pause in direct military engagements between the two nations. Iran has since targeted US military facilities in several countries across the region as part of its broader retaliation strategy.
