Tehran: Iran's army issued a stark warning on Thursday, cautioning the United States of potential military 'surprises' should it persist in attacking Iranian territory and breaching a memorandum of understanding.
According to Anadolu Agency, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, an army spokesperson, stated that President Donald Trump would encounter unforeseen actions from the Iranian military if Washington continues its 'adventurous' and 'malicious' policies. He emphasized that US officials could face new and unexpected challenges from the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, both in terms of weaponry and war geography, beyond their imagination. Akraminia conveyed these sentiments to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA).
He further argued that the US lacks complete control over developments, even in regions where it claims military dominance. Akraminia noted that Iranian vessels continue to navigate from the Strait of Hormuz toward the Indian Ocean, issuing a warning that any threat by the US or its allies would prompt an immediate and severe response from Tehran.
These statements emerge amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Both nations have continued exchanging attacks, despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding intended to resolve the conflict and forge a lasting peace agreement.
