Iranian Delegation Heads to Switzerland for US Talks

Tehran: Iran's team, led by the parliament speaker and foreign minister, is set to depart for Switzerland on Saturday evening to engage in discussions with the US regarding the execution of commitments outlined in a recently signed memorandum of understanding.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Abbas Araghchi are spearheading the Iranian delegation. A source close to the negotiating team revealed to Fars News Agency that specialized committees are accompanying the Iranian delegation, consistent with prior negotiation rounds. Among the key figures is Abdolnasser Hemmati, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran, who is heading the economic committee. Ali Bagheri Kani, the deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, is also part of the delegation, underscoring the importance of these talks.

Earlier reports from the Iranian ISNA news agency, quoting Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, indicated that the delegation would be traveling to Switzerland 'within the next few hours,' marking a significant step in diplomatic engagements between Iran and the US.
