Iranian IRGC Intercepts Hostile Fighter Jet in Strait of Hormuz

Qeshm:Tehran Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force has intercepted a "hostile" fighter jet near Qeshm Island in the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz. The incident was reported by Iranian media on Thursday amid speculations of explosions and potential air defense operations in the area.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the IRGC's Aerospace Force confronted the aircraft and compelled it to retreat from the vicinity. However, the origin and model of the aircraft remain undisclosed, and no official statement has been released regarding the situation.

In a related development, Iran's Fars News Agency reported several explosions in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz, particularly near Sirik and Qeshm Island. Local sources cited by Fars indicated that residents of Qeshm Island observed flashes of light and heard noises in the sky, with suggestions that air defense systems might have been activated.

Preliminary assessments revealed that some sounds could be attributed to warning shots directed at vessels purportedly operating without authorization in the Strait of Hormuz. There has been no official confirmation of these reported events.
