Sistan and baluchestan: An Iranian police officer was killed in an armed attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Iranian media reported. The incident took place on Thursday, when armed occupants of three vehicles opened fire on police officers in Iranshahr county, according to the provincial police.

According to Anadolu Agency, the provincial police statement, which was carried by Fars News Agency, identified the slain officer as Sgt. 1st Class Meysam Karami. The statement further informed that the police are actively pursuing the armed assailants, and a security operation is underway in the surrounding area to apprehend those responsible.
