Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned Friday that the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran was setting a precedent that threatened to destroy global legal norms with consequences for the entire world.
According to Anadolu Agency, Pezeshkian highlighted his concerns on the US social media platform X, where he described the nature of the Israeli regime as state terrorism. He emphasized that the US's aggressive actions against Iran, including the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during a joint US-Israeli airstrike on February 28, could set a dangerous new precedent in international disputes, potentially leading to the destruction of global legal norms.
The US and Israel's military strikes on Iran have reportedly resulted in approximately 1,300 casualties, including the death of Khamenei. In response, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets, escalating tensions in the region.
