Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran's collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would not cease but will evolve to ensure the security of its nuclear facilities.

According to Anadolu Agency, Araghchi, during a meeting with ambassadors and foreign mission heads in Tehran, pointed out that the ease with which the non-proliferation system is violated poses a significant loss for the international community and international law, beyond just affecting Iran.

Araghchi conveyed that Tehran has received multiple messages from the United States indicating a willingness to resume negotiations. He emphasized that Iran is open to discussions, provided that the interests of the Iranian people are protected.

He reaffirmed Iran's commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), asserting that Iran's nuclear program has always been peaceful and will remain so. Tehran intends to continue its membership in the NPT.

Araghchi explained that, per parliamentary law, Iran's cooperation with the IAEA is managed through the Supreme National Security Council, which will review requests for cooperation on a case-by-case basis and make the necessary decisions.

He also cautioned against serious risks associated with Iran's nuclear facilities, such as the potential for radioactive leaks and threats from unexploded munitions left by US actions.

The report highlighted that a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran erupted on June 13, following airstrikes by Tel Aviv on Iranian sites, leading to significant casualties. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes on Israel, resulting in further casualties. The conflict concluded with a US-sponsored ceasefire on June 24.
