Sanaa: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that Iran needs "unity, collective decision-making and coordination among all state institutions" amid the escalating military tensions with the United States.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Pezeshkian emphasized the government's commitment to utilizing all available resources to address "unjust structures" and continue serving the Iranian populace. He highlighted the economy and people's livelihoods as the primary battlefield, asserting that Iran's adversaries are employing various methods to hinder the nation's progress.

Addressing the recent Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding signed with the US, Pezeshkian assured that Iran had not compromised on its rights, principles, national interests, or beliefs in any of the 14 points of the agreement. He stressed that Tehran had not made any concessions detrimental to the country's interests and that most outcomes were favorable to Iran. Pezeshkian further noted that no provision in the memorandum offered a one-sided benefit to the US.

The tensions have intensified as the US escalated its attacks against Iran, particularly concerning the shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Tehran has launched strikes on facilities and bases it claims are utilized by the US military in various regional countries. Notably, explosions were reported early Monday in several Iranian provinces, marking the first such strike on the northwestern city of Tabriz since the latest US attacks began last week.

This exchange of hostilities persists despite the memorandum of understanding signed in June, intended to end the conflict and establish a lasting peace agreement between the two nations.
