Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it launched missile and drone strikes on three US air bases in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the IRGC targeted a 'gathering center of US forces' at Al-Harir air base in Erbil, as well as the Ali Al Salem and Arifjan bases, claiming they were destroyed through the use of 'powerful Iranian missiles and drones.'

The IRGC stated these actions were part of the 52nd wave of 'Operation True Promise 4,' a retaliatory measure following the death of workers in Iranian industrial zones. In a statement, they also issued a threat to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, indicating that if he remains alive, they would continue to pursue him with full force.

The Israeli prime minister's office, as reported by Anadolu, dismissed social media claims of Netanyahu's assassination as 'fake news,' assuring that the prime minister is 'fine.' Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 12 reported that two individuals were lightly injured in Holon, central Israel, following an Iranian ballistic missile attack.

Tensions in the region have escalated since a joint US and Israeli strike on Iran on Feb. 28, which resulted in at least 1,300 Iranian casualties, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran's response has involved drone and missile attacks on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets, leading to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
