Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Claim Destruction of US Military Sites in Bahrain and Kuwait

Ankara: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday that it carried out missile and drone strikes that destroyed eight US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait. The attacks were said to be in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian targets, according to state broadcaster IRIB.

According to Anadolu Agency, the operation, which involved the IRGC's naval and aerospace forces, targeted military infrastructures at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and facilities associated with the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. The IRGC indicated that both ballistic missiles and drones were employed in the operation. The strikes were described as a response to recent US actions against Iranian sites in Sirik and Qeshm.

IRIB reported that the operation took place following a period of increased tensions in the Gulf and represents one of the most significant Iranian attacks on US assets in the region since the conflict's inception. This escalation occurred despite a memorandum of understanding, facilitated by Pakistan, aimed at resolving the conflict that began on February 28.
