Erbil: Kurdistan Democratic Party President Masoud Barzani has called on Iraq's federal government and the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) to meet and resolve disputes amid an ongoing escalation in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Barzani emphasized that Iraq is under the threat of multiple crises, with political conflicts between parties on the rise. He highlighted the need for immediate dialogue to address these issues and prevent actions by individuals seeking to exacerbate the situation.

Barzani's statements come at a time of heightened regional tensions following joint attacks by Israel and the US on Iran on February 28. These attacks have resulted in approximately 1,300 casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. The ongoing conflict has raised concerns about stability in the region, prompting Barzani's call for cooperation between the KRG and Iraq's federal government.
