Ankara: Ireland's Taoiseach, or prime minister, strongly condemned Israel's recent deadly strikes in the Gaza Strip, which violated a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas.

According to Anadolu Agency, Micheal Martin expressed his condemnation of the strikes in Gaza that reportedly resulted in more than 100 deaths, including 46 children. He emphasized the importance of all parties adhering to and implementing the ceasefire agreement and called for increased humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

Martin highlighted the appalling loss of innocent lives and reiterated the need for respect for international law. He urged all parties to honor their commitments and work towards ensuring the progress of other elements of the plan. Martin noted that too many people have already suffered and died.

His statements followed reports from the Palestinian Health Ministry that the Israeli army killed more than 100 Palestinians, including 46 children, in the Gaza Strip since Tuesday evening, violating the ceasefire agreement in place since October 10. The ministry also reported that Israel's renewed attacks injured 253 people, including 78 children and 84 women.

Ministry data revealed that since the ceasefire took effect, at least 211 people have been killed and 597 injured in Israeli attacks. Since October 2023, Israel's attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 68,600 people, mostly women and children, and have injured over 170,600 others.
