Israel Accused of Exterminating Palestinians ‘With Total Impunity’: Cuban President

Havana: Israel continues the extermination of the Palestinian people in Gaza "with total impunity" ensured by the US, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has said on X. "They bomb hospitals, refugee camps, and UN facilities, in flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law," Diaz-Canel said on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Diaz-Canel emphasized in another post on X on March 18 that Israel resumes its bombardment of Gaza "with the full support" of the US administration. He further asserted that the actions of Israel aim to annihilate the Palestinian population of the Strip "at all costs and with increasing brutality," describing the situation as genocide that "cannot go unpunished."

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the death of more than 50,100 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and has left over 113,700 injured since October 2023 due to the severe Israeli military offensive on Gaza.

In response to these actions, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
