Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared on Monday that Israel has initiated ‘a dangerous game’ by targeting civilian sites and oil industries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the IRGC announced via state broadcaster IRIB that it had launched a missile attack on similar industries in Haifa, northern Israel, as retaliation for an Israeli strike on Iran’s Mahshahr petrochemical facility earlier the same day.

The IRGC has cautioned that the repercussions of this escalating conflict on the global economy will fall under the “responsibility of the main arsonist in this field, America.” This statement highlights the potential for broader economic impact due to these hostilities.

Earlier reports from Iranian officials indicated that an Israeli airstrike resulted in partial damage to a petrochemical firm in southwestern Iran. Concurrently, missile alarms were activated in several Israeli cities as Tehran initiated missile responses.

The region has experienced heightened tensions since February when the US and Israel conducted airstrikes on Iran, prompting Iranian retaliatory actions against Israel and other regional nations hosting US interests. A temporary ceasefire was achieved on April 8, but subsequent negotiations stalled due to disagreements over its execution and other regional events.
