Israel Engages Trump Ally for $45 Million US PR Campaign

Nairobi: Israel has initiated a multimillion-dollar campaign aimed at reshaping public opinion in the o United States. The effort comes amidst declining support for Israel's policies and its contentious military actions in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday that the Israeli government has signed a contract exceeding $45 million with Brad Parscale, a former ally of President Donald Trump. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy that employs artificial intelligence for messaging, digital outreach, and media campaigns.

The report highlights that one facet of the campaign involves AI-generated text messages. These messages, sent to millions of Americans by a group named "Friends for Peace," urge discussions on topics such as Israel, Iran, and regional security.

Additionally, the campaign seeks to build alliances with conservative media outlets, engage influencers, and create AI-optimized online content. The goal is to enhance Israel's image and influence responses generated by AI chatbots.

The Wall Street Journal also noted that Israel has contracted at least six firms to bolster its outreach in the US, with numerous individuals registering as foreign agents representing Israel.

These efforts are part of a broader initiative, as Foreign Minister Gideon Saar remarked last year. Israel has allocated over $700 million in its 2026 budget for global public diplomacy and efforts to "shape consciousness."

This campaign emerges at a time when US public support for Israel has waned. A Pew Research Center survey published in March indicated that approximately 60% of US adults hold an unfavorable view of Israel, largely due to its actions during the Gaza conflict.
