Gaza city: The Israeli army launched a series of attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 35 Palestinians and numerous injuries, while reiterating warnings for the evacuation of Gaza City.
According to Anadolu Agency, the strikes targeted various neighborhoods, causing significant casualties and destruction.
In central Gaza City, an Israeli strike on a residential building in the al-Samer area claimed the lives of seven Palestinians and left approximately 60 others injured. Civil defense teams recovered the bodies of two individuals from the rubble of another building impacted by the strikes in the same vicinity.
The Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, located southwest of Gaza City, witnessed the deaths of a Palestinian man and his son due to Israeli army fire. Meanwhile, in the western part of the city, two Palestinians perished from an attack on the Shati refugee camp, with another individual killed in a separate strike near al-Shifa Tower.
Further targeting of civilians occurred in the southwestern region, where two Palestinians died when a drone fired upon a gathering in Tel al-Hawa. An attack on an inhabited home in the al-Sabra neighborhood also led to multiple fatalities and injuries.
Additional bombardments were reported west of the city, particularly in areas north of Al-Quds Open University, though injury details remain undisclosed. In the eastern part of Gaza City, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire, with the body later transported to Baptist Hospital.
Elsewhere, in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, an attack in the Al-Sidra area resulted in six Palestinian deaths. Leaflets were distributed over al-Wehda Street and near the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, urging residents to evacuate southward.
The overnight operations included demolition blasts in northwestern neighborhoods and drone activity targeting homes in Tel al-Hawa. The escalation follows Israel's approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to gradually reoccupy the Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City.
In central Gaza, Israeli fire struck a tent sheltering displaced families in the al-Sawarkeh area, resulting in two deaths and several injuries. A child also died when a civilian vehicle was hit in al-Farouq neighborhood, near al-Zawaida. Another fatality occurred due to shelling in the central region, with specific details yet to be confirmed.
In southern Gaza, medical sources reported the death of a Palestinian who succumbed to injuries from a prior attack. Since October 7, 2023, Israel's offensive in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of over 65,300 Palestinians, predominantly women and children. The conflict has led to mass displacement and a blockade on humanitarian aid, causing famine and additional casualties, including 147 children.
