Tel aviv: The Israeli army reported on Friday that it successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. This development follows a series of sirens that sounded across several regions in Israel, prompting a swift response from the Israeli Air Force.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli military issued a statement confirming the interception. The sirens were reportedly heard in the southern Negev and Dead Sea areas, specifically in locations such as Arad, Kiryat Arba, and Ein Gedi. These alerts were triggered by the missile launch originating from Yemen.

The recent escalation in missile and drone strikes by the Houthis comes amid renewed Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip. Since March, when Israeli forces resumed operations following a tenuous ceasefire, the Houthis have intensified their attacks. This includes targeting commercial shipping routes in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea. These actions are said to be in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, where over 59,600 individuals have lost their lives due to the ongoing conflict.
