Jerusalem: Israel plans to call up around 400,000 reservists soon amid a possible expansion of ground attacks in southern Lebanon, Israeli media reported on Tuesday. The public broadcaster KAN revealed that the government is expected to approve this move in the coming period, although an exact date has not been specified.

According to Anadolu Agency, the expected move is linked to the expansion of ground maneuvers in Lebanon and ongoing military operations against Iran. KAN mentioned that while the official figure stands at 400,000, the actual number of reservists called up is likely to be lower than the announced figure.

The regional tension has been escalating since the United States and Israel jointly launched an offensive against Iran on February 28. This conflict has resulted in reported casualties exceeding 1,340 people. In response, Tehran has executed drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host U.S. military assets. These retaliatory actions have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
