Damascus: Israeli drones struck an area in the Damascus countryside on Wednesday, marking the latest violation of Syria's sovereignty, local media reported. The state-run TV channel Alikhbariah detailed that a drone strike targeted Tel Bat al-Warda, located near the village of Beit Jinn.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) also reported multiple drone strikes in the vicinity of Beit Jinn. There is currently no available information regarding casualties from these strikes.

SANA further reported that Israeli reconnaissance aircraft conducted intensive flights over the western Damascus countryside and the northern Quneitra countryside. On Friday, at least 13 people, including women and children, were killed, and 24 others were injured in an Israeli raid in Beit Jinn.

In addition, SANA noted two Israeli raids in the southern Quneitra countryside on Wednesday. The broadcaster mentioned that Israeli forces were stationed in the village of Um al-Izam, where they established a military checkpoint. A three-vehicle Israeli patrol reportedly advanced towards Rwihinah village, situated south of the Quneitra countryside.

No immediate comments have been made by the Israeli army or Syrian authorities regarding these reports. The attack occurred despite US President Donald Trump's calls for restraint to Israel on Monday.

Syrian government data indicates that since December 2024, Israel has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into the southern provinces. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone, violating a 1974 agreement with Syria.
