Jerusalem: The Israeli Air Force has launched a significant offensive, targeting more than 200 sites across western and central Iran in the past 24 hours, according to a statement released by the Israeli military on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the operation involved dozens of fighter jets, which were guided by military intelligence to target ballistic missile launchers, air defense systems, and weapons production facilities. These targets were reportedly linked to what Israel described as Iran's 'terrorist regime.' The military statement highlighted that the attacks were aimed at infrastructure across Tehran, with a focus on minimizing the scale of missile fire directed toward Israeli territory.

The escalation in regional tensions follows a joint attack by Israel and the US on February 28, which has resulted in over 1,300 casualties, including the death of the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injuries to more than 10,000 individuals, as reported by Iranian authorities. In retaliation, Tehran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries housing US military assets.
