Gaza City: An Israeli airstrike has rendered a children's hospital in the Gaza Strip non-operational, as reported by the Health Ministry. The Durra Children's Hospital in Gaza City was put out of service following damage sustained during an Israeli airstrike. The incident occurred on Wednesday, with the hospital's upper building being hit by a missile, which impacted the intensive care unit and destroyed the solar panel system that supplies the facility with power.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry has indicated that approximately 37 hospitals have become inoperational since the onset of the Israeli offensive in October 2023. The ongoing conflict has seen Israel systematically target civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and places of worship, raising concerns over potential war crimes as per international war regulations.

Israel's military campaign on the Gaza Strip was resumed on March 18, following the abandonment of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 51,400 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, since October 2023.

In November of the previous year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice due to the devastating impact of its military actions, which have pushed the territory towards famine.
