Gaza city: The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza reported late Friday that an Israeli airstrike resulted in the deaths of 11 members of a single family. The strike targeted their vehicle in the eastern al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City without prior warning.

According to Anadolu Agency, Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal stated that the vehicle, which carried 11 members of the Shaaban family including seven children and two women, was struck shortly after crossing the 'yellow line.' Basal emphasized that the attack occurred without any warning, lamenting that there were alternative methods to address the situation without causing fatalities. He criticized the strike as evidence of continued aggression against innocent civilians.

The 'yellow line' serves as an unofficial boundary that distinguishes areas where Israeli forces are stationed from those where Palestinians are permitted to move within the Gaza Strip. A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, facilitated by regional and international mediators and put into effect on October 10, requires a partial Israeli withdrawal from several areas in Gaza to new positions within the enclave known as the 'yellow line.'

Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of nearly 68,000 Palestinians in Gaza, predominantly women and children, and have left the region largely uninhabitable.
